It was pleurisy, and it was the first manifested symptom of pneumonia. I was also diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at around 16. So it all sort of makes sense. Did I mention that I slipped a disc in my back at around 7? I have lupus and I laughed so hard when I read this, because I know exactly what you are talking about. I have cold sensitivity with mine and so the dye that makes you feel like you have to pee is also pleasantly warming. Mine went acute much later than yours. It was triggered when my Da died. I have had subaccute symptoms since I was sixteen. That's when I contracted Mono. And yes, I did do something fun to get that one. ;) Anyway, the theory is active Epstein-Barr virus may be a factor in lupus which incidently is also manifested in Mono. The most frustrating thing is the pain, the fatigue, and the depression. It all feeds into each other in a vicious circle. I've had a hard time adjusting. Anyway, I am very glad I found you.
