kickin’ it high school style
Thursday, May 28th, 2009this happened awhile ago, hence the 311 references (march 11th) but I forgot about it until now. I did the artwork for their next album, which is them in a knife fight with Oh Pioneers! and yes, of course it takes place in an alley and yes, of course there’s a baby shooting up in the dumpster, you don’t even have to ask.
and if you haven’t heard Andrew Jackson Jihad, you’re welcome.
ps- an RSS feed has been added to this site, it’s below the calender on the right hand sidebar

Sweet, you added an RSS feed right before I started reading. Loving your stuff!
May 28th, 2009 at 6:18 pm
The RSS feed is new? Well that’s lucky… I just got done reading through all of this (got linked to the start of the archives by Abstruse Goose) and I was thinking as I went along “damn good thing there’s an RSS feed, otherwise I’d feel bad when I got to the end and never came back”
There are very few places where I’ll check for new stuff the old fashioned way…

311. wow. When AJJ came to San Diego, we all went over to the Boat House where they promptly decided we needed to watch Beer For My Horses, a movie starring Toby Keith, Ted Nugent, and the Ford f-150.

I’m confused. I’ve been using your rss (http://www.fartparty.org/feed/) for quite a long time now. How is the new one different?
May 28th, 2009 at 9:05 pm
fuck if I know. Apparently it disappeared for awhile? really, I’m total crap at website/internet stuff, I have a friend who fixes these things because I dont understand them. If the same rss feed still works then, uh, then it works. Fuckin’ a I miss snail mail.
May 28th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
I’m confused - is that a parody or a cover of the Neutral Milk Hotel song? I never paid enough attention to the words to know if they’re messing with it in some way.

Any chance you can get your computer friend to include the comics in the RSS feed?

Aaaah, highschool jukebox nights. Once we found this bar that
actually had Abbey Road in the juke. Played the second side
for about five times, sang all along. Beautiful. Haven’t done it for a long time though.

that Rosemary’s Greenpoint Tavern with the 3.50 styrofoam cups?
May 29th, 2009 at 3:24 am
I subscribed yesterday
May 29th, 2009 at 2:18 pm
Would love to have the comics in the feed too. Hey Julia’s friend, could you please work on that?
May 29th, 2009 at 9:31 pm
I just finished reading all the comics on the website. One of the best webcomics I’ve come across in ages. Keep up the good work.

Q & A:
“that Rosemary’s Greenpoint Tavern with the 3.50 styrofoam cups?”
yeah, but like a proper lady, I brought whiskey in a jam jar.
“Any chance you can get your computer friend to include the comics in the RSS feed?”
uuum, no. god forbid you’d have to actually visit a website like back in the day when people had to open new browsers and shit.
“I’m confused - is that a parody or a cover of the Neutral Milk Hotel song?”
it’s a cover. The sampling of their songs on myspace doesn’t represent their work that well, I’d recommend just buying a whole album, it’s totally worth it.
“When AJJ came to San Diego, we all went over to the Boat House where they promptly decided we needed to watch Beer For My Horses, a movie starring Toby Keith, Ted Nugent, and the Ford f-150.”
hahaha! but of course.
May 30th, 2009 at 3:16 pm
Is it bad to laugh at other people’s in-jokes, even if you understand it without actually having been there?
Awesome experience, but I have nothing similar to offer. I can write songs, that’s it.
May 30th, 2009 at 5:14 pm
BTW, ask your friend to fix that Facebook page you linked to a few posts ago. It still doesn’t work, at least, not for me.
May 30th, 2009 at 5:43 pm
Came here via Abstruse Goose and glad of it. I read the entire thing from front to back in the last few days and I promise when I’m not a useless bum I’ll buy some hard copies. You deliver to the UK, right?

“uuum, no. god forbid you’d have to actually visit a website like back in the day when people had to open new browsers and shit.”
Just out of curiosity, why the pointless douchbaggery? Your page is broken, and you lash out at your readers for expecting to work correctly? Snark can be cute, but shitty is just ugly. I don’t get it.
June 1st, 2009 at 12:15 pm
isn’t that the point of the internet? that it’s a place where everyone’s a total douche bag? I’m just playin’ by the rules, don’t get your panties in a bunch

this comic is awesome. fart party + AJJ = fantastic. My life would be a lot less amusing if I had never heard of them. One day I’ll get to see them and all will be well in my life.

I went to check out a new bar last night (well, new for me, that is) that had some Monday night specials. Wouldn’t you know the first bar fight I’d witnessed in I don’t know how long breaks out about 3 feet behind me. I was like, I’m 40 years old, I don’t need to get dragged into this shit…but I didn’t as it turned out. Made for a memorable evening anyhow.

You know, the guy who writes PvPonline tried including his webcomic in the RSS feed for 30 days to see if it hurt his revenue. In his case it didn’t, but your readers might be bigger douches. This being the internet and all
June 4th, 2009 at 8:47 am
What revenue? I don’t see ads on Julia’s site.
I buy her comics when they hit my store, and they always sell out there. Because we love the words “Fart” and “Party” in the same sentence. Welcome to Sydney.
PS. Can’t subscribe to your feed JW, because I can’t stand not seeing the comics on the reader. It means I have to travel back here anyway. And you are not getting two weekly visits from me! Luv your work.
