Like a perspective you, your mother, and your brother all share? If that were the case, then perhaps one day he too will find himself seeing things that certain way and earn his eyes that day. Like when I told my father than his father(my grandfather) imagined he(my father) would want to spend his twilight years in a windowless room with a typewriter and a Two side-by-side TV sets. My dad looked at me with a smile on his face and said "I think my father gets me". That was enlightening, in a different sense.
