Aside from boring businessfolk, most people there are doing something unusual -- vacationing, visiting relatives, moving, whatever. Also, you get to fly! Flying is awesome, even if the actual sitting in uncomfortable seats packed like meat with a stranger at your hip sucks. Flying at night with a window seat is amazing. Seeing London after that long, dark ocean, or the lights over New York... Airports are fun because they’re so… transitory.
