do people just lay books out on the street? or do you find them in their trash?
i live in a small town, and sometimes people will put stuff out at the curb with a “free” sign on it. it’s usually not as cool as a box of books, though.
we have a kroger where i live, and there are “manager’s specials” on soon-to-be-expired items. they are the BEST deals. i love deals.
-wish i could get books for free. im never anywhere where things are cheap or free. stupid city. I’m too poor to pay so i try to make not having it cooler than having things…
I’ve been using the movie ticket trick to save money for a long time… the ticket takers never check, and even when they do notice they’re far to bored/apathetic to care. Besides, having to pay 10 dollars to see a movie is down right robbery.
wtf… $2 for a SLICE of pizza? I make frozen ones @ $3 for an entire pie. If you know how to cook it (broil at the end), it’s freaking awesome. And $.99 for a pack of nuts?? Lol… we just got pissed because the stuff in our vending machine went up $.10 and is now $.60.
I do the movie thing, too. I have a great coffee table (light wood, with glass top) that I got from my boss’s neighbor’s curb a few years ago. My brothers once got a working TV (granted, it was one of those huge cabinet things) and huge speakers from a neighbor’s trash.
haha, i feel better reading this. a couple weeks ago i was carded for an “r” rated movie. i’m 21! and today i got a new bike and the one they said was my size i thought was a kids bike. at least i don’t have to stand on the curb to get on anymore like with my old one.
<3
I love it! My new place, everything is up high, and I need a step stool for it. Totally sucks. My shower is the complete right size for me though. My roommates always get pissed at me for bringing home my found deals. More and more people dismiss the whole “one man’s trash…”
the computer im writing this on is made up from bits and pieces i collected from the curbs in melbourne, stupid australians chuck out heaps of good stuff
such small girls, 5′3″ and under are known as ’spinners’! Such fun!

Yay! Praise for low ceilings! I hate having to get the stepladder out whenever I need to change a bulb…I feel like an Oompa Loompa at times.
I bet I’m the only short arse who likes to eat and drink miniature things to make feel like a grown up though…*sigh*

I used to live in a similar basement apartment with a low ceiling. But the ceiling was metal, so we stuck things to it with magnets.
The other side of their basement was a storage area, and they had a ping-pong table. So many mornings I woke up to ping-pong…
Even better than child’s movie ticket would be sticking around in the cinema complex and seeing THREE movies for the price of a child’s ONE.

im shorter then julia!
October 15th, 2008 at 10:12 pm
Damn! 5′2″ and you can reach the ceiling! That is low!!!
