the Jello Pool
Monday, August 4th, 2008I know this isn’t a comic, but I’ve been wasting time I don’t really have drawing dumb things like this while I sit around my new apartment, waiting anxiously for good ole’ Bikey to arrive from California.
Also, August just snuck up and bitch slapped me and I was like “wtf? where did summer go? when did it even get here?” so I’m going to try to do more summery event things before fall gets all up in my face about it.
Also, I thought everyone knew about Garfield minus Garfield, but I found out I was wrong so in case you missed it, I honestly think this comic is hands down one of the most brilliant things I’ve ever seen. (warning: if you click this link, you might waste hours. but they will be hours well wasted)
ps thank you to everyone who came out for the Cartoon Brooklyn art show! and thanks to whoever left me a mystery flower even though not knowing kinda drives me nuts. well played, whoever you are.

I think instead of making the coolest fort to hang out in a giant pool of jello would be a horrible, horrible way to die.

The best thing about garfield minus garfield is that it’s like a thought virus: after I saw it once, I’ve always read regular garfield as g-g. Which is SO MUCH BETTER.

Another Garfield funny is this translation from Chinese to English.

I wish this was possible.

This looks exactly like some drawing I used to do about ant tunnels. Haha, they’d have different rooms with cool stuff in them, looks exactly like it. Thats awesome.

Julia Wertz is going to have my babies and I will give her free cookies and beer for the rest of her life.

the best thing about that Garfield site is that Davis actually likes it and is not being dickish about it. *smile*

oh, and jello pool is awesome!

Jello? You want Jello? Check out this website. It’s a long story how I met Dana Sterling, but she’s a wild and crazy chick who promotes the wrestling, Disco Crisco Twister and other wacky events (like the Santa bar crawl). Hook up with her and you’ll have TONS of fodder for Fart Party. Oh, and it was really cool to meet you on Friday.
Beth (aka, the old comic fan-girl who talked your ear off as her fiance’ watched in horror).

You need perimeter defenses.

i like how honestly serious that jello wrestling website is. and talking to you & beth was great- I’m pretty sure I did a lot of yammering, in fact if I recall correctly, I told you guys the “gak in the bra” story which, well, yeck.

Do want.

Heheh my friend made jello the other day and messed up horribly. She told me this and i wanted to see it. In doing so we began munching on the jello to see what it tasted like. Actually it tasted ok.

Hey, good meeting you at Rocketship. I was the guy who asked you to sign for “John.” I got totally wrecked throughout the night and thought I lost the book and everything else I’d bought. But Superman Jesus Santa Claus made it all come back to me.

damn, I thought I was the only one who ever had the idea for the Jello pool. but 1987? you beat me by a couple years and all I figured would be at the bottom was a grate over the drain and some dead bugs.

It’s funny how Garfield, one of the most terminally unfunny comics out there, is able to inspire people to make truly funny things.
Garfield minus Garfield is fantastic, but I also recently stumbled upon Lasagna Cat (Here).

When I was a kid, I wanted to fill the house with Jello, and we’d have to eat our way in.

“Snaxs”?
August 5th, 2008 at 5:23 pm
It’s the plural of “Snax”.

of course I’ve dreamt of a jello-filled pool too, but mine was never as cool as this one.
Hannah’s pantry contains–I shit you not–every single one of my favorite childhood snackxzkskxs (minus those requiring refrigeration/freezing, like orange sherbet push-ups)
