I lived in the Mission and then moved to Brooklyn. The pizza was good, but everything else was dirty, smelly, rat infested, cockroached, bedbugged-sucky. NYC is dog shitted and generally unpleasant. Do yourself a favor and move back to SF--which ain't perfect but is pretty nice. Or heck, if you want nice (people, place, general attitude) move to Portland or Seattle. NYC is suffering from a long term bad case of the nasties. Bed-stye my eye. You cannot make up for long term structural problems in a place with just a good attitude.
