You are going to just LOVE a few feet of snow, if you get a good storm this year.

AHHH welcome to the Northeast, wait until after XMAS and the snow sticks around, you will be sick of it by March

Don’t listen to M Julia you are going to have fun this winter! ***SLEDDING!!!!***

dude i told you I’m all about the disk sled thingies, at least ONE of us has to get a head injury of some sort or it just won’t be a complete winter

the disc sleds fucking blow. that’s why they’re the cheapest ones at the gas station. give me an old-school steerable wooden one with metal rails any day. you can really do some damage with those things.

We get another 5 inches today. Disc sleds do blow because you can’t control them at all. Even the plastic rectanguloid ones are better because at least you can go down the hill straight. Unless you’ve been drinking.
If they have a hill called “the ballbreaker,” don’t let them talk you into going down it.

You don’t need to spend money on a disc- grab a large cardboard box off the street and have at it!
December 4th, 2007 at 5:02 pm
Or if you don’t have cardboard, use an old cookie sheet!

get some college students to steal you some trays from their dining halls

find a hill and pour some water down it (might take a few buckets). let it freeze. GO NUTS ON IT!!!! wooohooo!!
i agree that the wooden sleds are the best.

Love the strip… My daughter is crazy excited about the snow here as well… she is convinced that she is going to go “skating” tomorrow and wanted to throw snowballs tonight… she’s three, it’s hard to hate the accursed white stuff when you see such excitement and joy on her face.

You people are fools! It is ALL about the Crazy Carpet. The closest you can get to just flinging yourself blindly down the hill. No protection, max speed. Just like I buy ma ho’s…

Snow is cool, and it’s only going to get worse. February snow, however, is not fun. Nope, nope, nope!

Dude when it snows for serious and it’s like sleddable let me know, it’s just not a NYC winter unless you drink 40s in Prospect Park and sled down the snowy hills on garbage can lids. Fuck them “sleds.” My entire family used to go sledding on garbage can lids. That shit is tradition. Also if you use a metal lid and some of the snow is frozen it makes a gigantic noise.

Best sled I ever went on was an uptunrned dining table, down a hill into a lake. the great thing was you could stand up, grab the legs and see your impending doom.
God times!

Anyone remember the sleds that were really just a sheet of durable(?) plastic with rounded corners and 2 holes cut out for handles? Those rawked and you could roll em up for easy storage.

Joe 2.0! That is the Crazy Carpet that I was talking about…
