Don’t worry, in a month we will all be bitching it’s too cold

Yeah, wait till it starts snowing, California native girl. You’ll be begging for global warming then!

hey, I’m a NORTHERN california girl! i don’t even own a bathing suit! I even used to ski a lot before I hyper extended my knee and landed my dumbass in the er. after that it was all sledding and jumping off the roof.
but yeah, I’m sure I’ll make millions of whiney comics about it since I’ve never actually LIVED in the snow. it doesnt even frost in san francisco.

That’s how it is here in Philly too. too damn warm then it finally got chilly and now it’s been raining for 3 days. it’s pretty ridiculous.

When I lived in SF, one of my coworkers (a lifelong northern Californian) started freaking out when she found out we were all going to have to go to our company’s Boston headquarters in mid-January. It eventually came out that, since she lived in a typical completely uninsulated San Franisco apartment, she thought that in Boston it would be as cold inside as it was outside and she would be typing with fingerless hobo gloves or something.
Since you live in a NY apt. in a quasi-dodgy neighborhood, you probably have steam heat with a thermostat controlled by your super, so you’ll no doubt be opening your windows in the dead of winter because he has it cranked up to 105 for no good reason.

ha! I know what you mean. I live an hour or two out of the city and october has been completely lame. I thrive in cool temperatures, and except today and yesterday (both rain soaked, mind you), I’ve gotten nothing but shit on.
I did, however, go on a nice, scenic drive today and saw many pretty color changing trees. you don’t get much of that in nyc. oh well.

It’s like that here too. Yeah, it finally got cool enough to wear a coat (at night & early morning), but it keeps raining and other dumb shit. Oh well…maybe next year…

I’m in Minnesota so I’ve got taunting rights over just about all of you with regards to how cold it is. That said, I grew up in South Jersey and coming here was quite a bad shock — probably like what Julia will get when her first NorEaster comes along! Steam heat, if you have it, will be both a blessing and a curse. The blessing will be that you won’t need a humidifier to keep your skin from drying out and your blanket from turning into a static-electric inferno! The curse? You’ll be writing comics about that .

Small Houses…the future of my retirement. We’re gonna build one in a few years.
That web site is a really good resource. Thanks for posting it.
