    glad you’re back

  3. jfruh Says:

I was looking for you at MoCCA on Sunday and then some random stranger told me that you weren’t there so I stopped looking, and then someone told me over the Internet later that you were. WAAHH! Thanks for nothing, random stranger jerk!

  4. Julia Says:

josh- I was bummed I didnt get to meet you, I dont know what jerk said I wasn’t there but I was. I mean, I was but I wasn’t, I only sat at the table for a collective two hours the whole weekend. oops

  5. Raymei Says:

oh-ho, you’re leaving Portand at the alter for New York, eh? Just kinda more of the big-city type, I guess :P Hope you get settled as stress-free as possible!

  6. Nickey Robo Says:

Not to sound like a creep or anything, but I read your comic and I live in Portland and I work at the Independent Publishing Resource Center and I was all “wow, she’s gonna move here! I bets I’ll get to meet her!” But I guess not… have fun in New York!

  7. indrifan (Chris S) Says:

And I feel kind of bad because I’m the one who mentioned at Josh’s site that you were there, and it’s quite possible that the person who said you weren’t there was telling the truth because either you weren’t there yet or you left.
And even though you gave me a button I was too shy to ask you to scribble on or sign something for me, so I was going to try to catch you again at the Portland zine fest. Are you still planning to go? (I am a fan, but no, I’m not flying all the way across the country just to see you- we’re going to be in Seattle that week anyway).

  8. MayorMcMudd Says:

Are the photo links having problems or is it me and my deficient clicking abilities? (p.s. congrats on finding an urban soul mate and thanks for the pin!)

  9. mgabrys Says:

Um - ‘kay - interesting move I’ll admit but it’s not exactly cheaper than SF.

  10. patricia Says:

It’s exciting to see the fart party will be hitting the east coast.

  11. T-2 Says:

New York is an amazing place and they have the best bagels in the country.

Enjoy, be safe, call your mom.

  12. Liz Baillie Says:

    WOO! Brooklyn wins another one!

  13. Jentern Says:

New york will be glad to have you!

  14. Brian Says:

I’ll be glad when you have a permanent address again. I wanna send you some stuff.

I’ve been catching up on the last few months of your blog (while avoiding the work I’m totally buried under). So, thanks, I think.

As a 10-year resident of Portland and Greater Oregon, I’m bound to say, “Californians go the fuck home and quit ruining our state,” though you’d have made a fine addition to the “scene.” My partner is a comic book guy (or was for 15 years — long story), and this is a good town for it, if you fit in w/ the right clique. As an indy creator and a girl, I’d bet money you would in short order.

And yes, comic-cons are boring, even if you are doing sketches like mad. That’s how my partner compiled his collection of the goofiest comic books ever fucking made. He also says there’s a con-zen that makes it possible for him to spend every Thanksgiving in fucking Baltimore.

Ah, but the love of a place…you gotta jump sometimes. That’s how I ended up here, @ the tender age of 24. I’m still coming up w/ reasons to be here. Good luck in NYC, and if you do find yourself if Puddle-town, I can tell you where all the good happy hour deals and the free clinic are.

Take care, cuz I do for some unfathomable reason.

    -Marie
