Apparently beards are ‘the thing’ in NYC, eh?
November 16th, 2006 at 11:47 am
good lord.

Double wow. You have new, clear color work, followed or married to another’s work based on your NY experiences. Hmmm. Nice compilation here.

HEY LAURA!!!! Are you reading this you mean dumb bitch? Where are MY drawings!!
I’ve been loyaly and faithfully and stupidly keeping my gaze pointed toward my most neglected mailbox for the past EIGHT months!!
You’re gonna get it!

PS is it some kind of universal law that all nerdy comic makin boys must be rich in facial hair and glasses?
November 16th, 2006 at 1:08 pm
AND they have to have chucks too.
November 16th, 2006 at 1:12 pm
all cartoonists have chucks and glasses and beards. It’s manditory. So far, I’ve got the chucks and glasses part down, and I’m working on my beard.

how can they keep their shoes straight if they are the same color.. are they marked in some way?
(based on the assumption they all have the same shoe size and wear’n'tear)

I’ll have you know that at least two New York cartoonists have a pair of Vans prison issue with velcro straps! Also is that drawing supposed to represent when you went to karen and jon’s to get your sketchbook? Because I remembered after you left that it was probably AWP night (Artists with Problems).

also, this is one of your best panels yet. i’m jus sayin’ is all.

Hey! I have neither beard nor Chuck Taylors. But my oh my. The shell shocked expresion you drew on your face is rather priceless. I guess I can’t even fathom what an overwhelming evening that must have been for you.
And yeah Liz, that was Julia at AWP, although she understates how everyone seemed excited to meet her.

There’s a sketch group in Austin I went to a couple times and this is exactly how I felt. Disheveled, overwhelmed and inadequate.
(I guessed on the inadequate part in this one.)
November 17th, 2006 at 9:27 am
yeah… the beards are a newish and unfortunate trend (in brooklyn, at least).
November 17th, 2006 at 9:35 am
Uh, I have the beard and glasses, but no chucks. Take THAT, establishment!
These are awesome.
November 17th, 2006 at 12:01 pm
unfortunate? I beg to differ. more beards! beards for everyone! I vote that all babies should henceforth be born with full beards, then they wouldn’t be so fucking repulsive.
November 17th, 2006 at 8:20 pm
have you seen a intimidation beard
November 18th, 2006 at 6:17 pm
I have a beard and I actually look like the first guy on the couch (including the shoes)… except my hair is longer, a bit more gray, and I have no talent. FYI.
Anyway…this is a very cool looking comic! You really know how to use colors!

Laura Park breaks my heart with amazement!

It’s been so long since I checked in, but dude, woah.

Good colour, but it’s still your expressions that crack me up.

Wow - besides enjoying your comics - my estimation of you has skyrocketed after after seeing you and Gabrielle Bell in the same room - well pictorially anyway.
Great to see the “good” creators hang out together.
