I had the mental image in my head of a zitted-pore like a little pothole full of gunk, and the rubbing alcohol like foaming drain cleaner scouring it out and leaving it sparkling clean. So I would scrub my face really hard with one of those facial scrubber doohickeys and then liberally apply rubbing alcohol. It felt like my face was on fire, but it was so satisfying to be doing something positive.
